Yaaaaaayy!

Just thought this was worthy of announcing...

Yesterday I FINALLY went downtown to the Dallas County Records building
and bought the names of my 2 businesses, Local Honey and Kelly Christine Photo.
Now I'm realllllly official.
Thank goodness neither of them were taken! As you can see I'm very excited.

After that I was just in a great mood and decided to go to some shops I've
been wanting to visit for a while now. One of them was Ahab Bowen in Uptown!
It's an amazing vintage clothing store with beautiful things.
The clothes are in pretty much perfect condition with really great prices.
You should check it out.

This shop was just too cute not to share!

Have a lovely day!

EGGCELLENT.

Last night Canaan and I dyed some Easter eggs and watched a scary old movie.
This was our very first attempt at coloring eggs but here's what we came up with!

We were a tad impatient with leaving the eggs in for a long time so
the colors could have been more vibrant but oh well.. It was fun!

Pretty Pretty

Happy Easter everyone! I'm a little sad today, though. Here I am all alone (well, I do have my 2 cats hehe) on Easter, a holiday that used to be such a big deal as kid. I couldn't wait to fall asleep to find a pretty little basket full of goodies by my feet the next morning! Then have a big egg hunt with all my crazy cousins. And now.. It's just a regular day. I did sleep in very late this morning then went for a nice bike ride around my neighborhood.. And tonight my love is coming to stay with me! I can't wait until we have our own family one day so I can be the one making Easter baskets for my kiddos!

Here are just a few pretty things:

Amazing idea for a table decoration. Tiny jars of glitter!

Vintage hot air balloons.
I'm obsessed! Could be a pretty sweet little tattoo.

This is how I'd want my 21st birthday cake to look!
So simple, I love it.

Makes me want to have a pastel themed birthday party.

Have a lovely day!

L O V E

Meet Canaan Adam. He's my boyfriend of nearly 6 years (in August!!) He's also my best friend.

He and I both have lots of love for nature and the outdoors, so I think this fits us perfectly.

We shot this video while visiting my home in Golden, TX.
Most of the footage is from our front yard which overlooks a huge pond
and the driveway to the house. I love it so much and appreciate it 10x more because I live in the city now.

I did, unfortunately, find 4 ticks on me after shooting!! Eeeeek!
I suppose it was worth it for this lovely video.

Oh! If you like this and want more info on how you and your love
can get a video like it contact me here.

Hope you enjoy it!

Local Honey in Small Magazine!!

If you haven't heard of Small, it's an adorable online magazine featuring amazing works of art, fashion, furniture, handmades, etc. all for little ones. And one of my Felted Wool Necklaces is in the fashion story "Wilderness Queens" on page 65 (which I also assisted)! Check it out.

Home sweet home

I absolutely love going home to East Texas. I'm from a super small town and love to get away from the crazy city. Sometimes it's nice to not have cell phone service. I picked a great weekend to come home because of  Highway 80 garage sales!

"Organized to promote and increase tourism trade and traffic along historic US 80, the first coast-to-coast, all-weather highway in America, the 2,400 mile route begins in Savannah, Ga., makes its way through East Texas and concludes in San Diego, California. The three-state event will cover a 392 mile route – one of the nation’s longest –from Mesquite, TX through Louisiana to Jackson, Mississippi. "

I loved these cups. Why didn't I buy them?

Those chairs. Set of 4 for $60! And in such good shape!

That day I had 2 photo sessions so I didn't have enough time to stop at very many sales.
I did manage to find a couple of goodies.

Here's what I came home with:

This cute little contemporary end table.
The bottom area is a cabinet. I really needed something to hold all my
Teen Vogues! $18 bucks.

This adorable vintage picnic basket (in great shape). I spotted the same one once
before and regretted not getting it so I didn't let this one get away!
$20 bucks. I probably could have talked it down but oh well!

And these 4 cute plastic blue place-mats.
I think they'll look great on my white Ikea coffee table.

Here's a little piece of my home.

5 Year Diary

It's funny. I just yesterday started my first little daily journal (or diary, whatev) but was kind of regretting the purchase I made because the lines are just too small and it's just too...I don't know...not diary-like.. Then I stumbled upon Igobykatie's blog post about her 5 year diary she just bought! I immediately wanted one. I can't wait for it to get here! The amount of space it leaves for each day just seems perfect. Plus, what an accomplishment to finish it 5 years from now. I'll be 25! I'm mainly starting a journal because I'm afraid I'll forget important little events that happen in my life and I want to be able to go back to them. Anyways, I'm super excited. You should think about starting one too. It's nice to write stuff down.

Here she is:

Oh, Tonight

Watch my big sister, Kacey (brunette) in this music video with Josh Abbott! Isn't she beautiful!? So proud of her :)

DIY-Collage Necklace

Definitely doing this asap.

I can't believe I'm up at 5am blogging about a necklace tutorial.. It's weird not being a student anymore or having a normal nine to five.

Anyways...Found this through Pinterest which led me to Flamingo Toes' tutorial on making this adorable collage necklace. I've always wanted some kind of badass charm jewelry. I usually wear the same 2 simple necklaces everyday but I'd definitely go for something like this.. especially knowing I found all of the little charms and made it myself. I'd be so proud.

You’ll need:

• 1 - 24″ chain

• 1 - 7″ chain (can be same type or different)
• Assorted Charms – I used 22 but your number will vary depending on how full you’d like the necklace
• Jump rings
• Closure for necklace – any kind (I used a lobster clasp)

Get the full tutorial and ideas on where to find charms here!
xoxo,
K
